These two chapters represent the sound foundation upon which the author builds the superstructure of his argument, addressing the key issues in the debate over globalization today in successive chapters: "The World Economy"; "Trade"; "Foreign Direct Investment"; "The Financial Economy"; "The Retreat of the Nation-state"; "The Postwar Economy". Finally, in his Conclusion, the author attempts to bring together the various threads of his argument into one cohesive model of the reality of globalization, with a particular focus on its relevance to the Canadian context."
